Bananas,Breath Mints, And Other Methods of Mass Catastrophication

Stay away from Trident Splash Orange Swirl...It's obviously supposed to taste like a creamsicle(there's even one on the package), but it doesn't get there, and it takes a really wrong turn somewhere...And just tastes wrong...Kinda like the gum equivalent of how people came back from the Pet Sematary in the Stephen King book(without the killing part).

"Dream On" by Aerosmith

So, I was finally able to update my iTunes, and I must admit, this Genius thing is pretty cool. It's pretty neat to be able to make what essentially amounts to "surprise" playlists.

I'm not actually listening to a "surprise" playlist right now(though I did make a couple last night) this is one I made called "Claaaassic Rock, man."

"The Rocker" by Thin Lizzy

I think Al Swearengen may be one of the ten best television characters ever created.

"Out of Time"by The Rolling Stones

I really need to make an appointment with the eye doctor.

I'm pretty jazzed to color Easter eggs with my kids this weekend. I hope that they realize that in order for the eggs to look presentable, I will really need to do all the work.

"Jailbreak" by AC/DC

Speaking of my daughters, I can't tell you how good it feels when "Hanging On the Telephone" by Blondie finishes playing in the car, and I hear from the back seat"I wanna hear that again." YES!!!

I think it's quite surreal and, honestly, just plain wrong that Bob Weir and Phil Lesh were on "The View".

I'm pretty excited for "Parks & Recreation".

"In The City" by the Eagles.

Speaking of the Eagles, I was reading an article about "The Big Lebowski" this weekend, and one of the sidebars was about the soundtrack. Apparently, they were having trouble getting the rights to Townes van Zandt's cover of the Stones' "Dead Flowers" and...well, here's the actual paragraph from the article:

A tougher get was Townes Van Zandt's cover of the Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers," which plays overLebowski's closing credits. "[Former Stones manager] Allen Klein owns the rights to it," Burnett says. "He wanted $150,000." Burnett begged Klein to just come down and watch an early cut of Lebowski. "It got to the part where the Dude says, 'I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man!' Klein stands up and says, 'That's it, you can have the song!' That was beautiful." For the record, Burnett agrees with the Dude ("[The Eagles] sort of single-handedly destroyed that whole scene that was brewing back then," he says), but the line infuriated Glenn Frey. "I ran into [Frey] and he gave me some shit," Jeff Bridges says. "I can't remember what he said exactly, but my anus tightened a bit."

Isn't that awesome ? And I don't even hate the Eagles, I just think that story is great.

I ma just about finished with "The Wordy Shipmates" by Sarah Vowell, and I can't decide what to read next: Kingdom Come(a graphic novel from the DC comics universe) by Mark Waid and Alex Ross or  "More Information Than You Require" by John Hodgman.  What do you think ?

Speaking of DC Comics, I bought a new superheroes folder at Target last night;Superman, Batman, Aquaman and The Flash on the cover. Will hold miscellaneous notes.

"Dixie Chicken" by Little Feat

I really want Patty Smyth to make some new music.

"LOST" is on tonight...I'm giddy!!!

Catchya later.

Re: the Easter Eggs, relatives of mine would let their little ones decorate the eggs with crayons or stickers, after the adults had done the dying. Or R and L could label the eggs for their intended recipients.

c2-Oops. I was only kidding about the easter eggs. i guess that doesn't say much about me if you thought I was being serious. as for the stickers, i assume that all of the stickers will end up on their potty seats. the things are absolutely COVERED in every imaginable kind of sticker. it's crazy. We are going to have to take pictures to preserve them forever.

Love that story about "The Big Lebowski".

Could have sworn someone I know just told me about something new Patty Smyth is doing. I'll have to get back to you on that.

No, I think it doesn't say a lot for me if I thought you were serious! I'm gonna blame only sleeping a few hours last night!
