For St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day all...On this glorious day that stands as a testament to inebriation and boiled meat, I would like to share with you an old Irish proverb, passed on to me from the old country...it goes like this:

" May those that love us, love us
Those that don't love us, may God turn their hearts
If God cannot turn their hearts,
Then may he turn their ankles, so we will know them by their limping"

Erin Go Bragh, Kiss Me I'm Irish...and on and on

Paticus, one of my dearest friends has a steady limp from her ever twisting ankles. She wears the most impractical shoes, you see. Should I be afeared that she secretly dispises me?

love,
friend to limps-a-lot

Dear FTLAL,
I wouldn't NECESSARILY distrust this person, but it might be wise to watch for other signs that they may be displeased with you: Do they often "accidentally" hit you with their motorized vehicle ? Does there seem to be a lot of glass or other industrial waste products in the meals they serve you ? Things like that.
take care,
paticus
