I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU !!!!!

Okay, so ever since I heard that Charlene song the other day, I have been thinking about songs that I like, but am waaaay embarrassed to admit to liking them...I think it's time to get over that embarrassment...So I'm gonna provide a list of those songs...I might include reasons that I like them, I might not...But I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to do the same....C'mon, as Stephen Colbert says(on one of the funniest shows on television) "Do you have the balls ?"

In No Particular Order:
I've Never Been To Me: Charlene- as I said, You'll get to you someday, Charlene, I know you will.

Maneater: Hall And Oates- Watch out boy, she'll chew you up...I still remember there was this HUGE frenzy on MTV for the debut of this video

Escape(The Pina Coloda Song): Rupert Hines

Abraham, Martin, And John: Dion- Just awful-but I love it

Bootylicious: Destiny's Child- "I don't think you're ready for this jelly" It's like Beyonce wrote it for me

Invincible(Theme From The Legend Of Billie Jean):Pat Benatar- Also a movie I am embarrassed to love, but "Fair Is Fair !!!"- Plus, the woman who does Lisa Simpson's voice in it, not to mention the sister brother team of Helen and Christian Slater...And I think Dean Stockwell is in it as well...

I Want To Know What Love Is: Foreigner- Maybe it's the choir ?

Eyes Without A Face: Billy Idol -Who knew the sneer could be so soft ?

Freedom 90- George Michael

I Will Always Love You: Dolly Parton- Kicks Whitney Houston's ass !!

Blinded by Rainbows: Rolling Stones- I LOVE the Rolling Stones, but this is this embarrassingly heavy handed anti-terrorist song from Voodoo Lounge-It's really cheesey, but i still love it.

The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia- Viki Lawrence

Young Turks: Rod Stewart

In The Ghetto: Elvis Presley- Again, I Love Elvis, but I'm as embarrassed for him SINGING this song as I am for myself for liking it.

Forever In Blue Jeans: Neil Diamond

The Boy Is Mine: Brandy And Monica

okay, i think that's enough....Your Turn!

hmm, I don't have any shame about the lame songs I like (when you ask for the Greatest Hits of Air Supply for Christmas, there's no pride left). But probably THE lamest song I love is Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Touch." God that song is cheese-tastic.

I once saw this 40-something electrician sing "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" in karaoke, and it was one of the highlights of my life so far.

Are you sure it wasn't actually Rupert Hines ? He had an electrician-esque look...and he did like Pina Colodas...

Or was it Pina colonics?

"I wanna know what love is" is like the greatest song. Ever.

Rick Springfield, Affair of the Heart. There's a lot of Springfield songs you might get away with liking in public--this isn't one of them. Most embarassing line: "I almost believe you were made to played by my hand." And yet...it rocks.

I'm hanging my head in shame with you on: I Want To Know What Love Is, In The Ghetto, and Forever In Blue Jeans.

I don't recall titles right now, but about half of the songs that make it on the department store/dollar store/grocery store music selection would be on my list. You know how it is, you go in (a quick trip in) for chips and beer and then find yourself wandering around much longer than necessary, just so you can finish humming along to Neil Diamond.

And I'll admit all of this, even though you have no appreciation for the Champion Stillers (yeah, I DID spell it that way. Its a genetic defect). I don't really follow pro ball, but some loyalties are required in my family. And so I'm wondering...is there something about Steelers v. Dallas? I seem to keep coming across fans of one team that can't stand the other team (and sometimes, it fans).

Yeah...Here's the history...The Steeelers beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl TWICE in the 70's, two really close games, one of which had a horrendous pass interference call go against the Cowboys that was actually offensive pass interference against Lynn Swann of the Steelers...Then, the Cowboys beat the Steelers in Super Bowl 30, so the Cowboys got "One For The Thumb" before the Steelers did...Then there is the ever present "The Steelers are the blue collar heroes, and the Cowboys were the flashy pretty boys with the stars on their helmets"...Also, the Cowboys are the team that everybody hates, they are kinda like the Yankees of football...I personally hate the Steelers because they beat the Cowboys in the 70's, just as I hate the 49ers for the fucking "catch" in 1981- that game broke my heart...Fucking 49ers...So there is the story...Plus, i think Bill Cowher is an asshole...
