I was recently stuck behind a guy driving a scooter, and since this gave me A LOT of time to think, I remembered that once when I was in college, I was walking across campus, and I heard this very loud crash behind me. I turned around and saw a young woman sitting in the road, a car stopped a few feet in front of her, and what had to have been a MILLION shards of purple fiberglass(or plastic ?) all over the street and sidewalk.
She apparently was riding a scooter( a Vespa, or whatever was all the rage in 1989 or 90) and had crashed into the car in front of her, and the scooter had practically evaporated. It was insane !! She was fine, by the way.
Just thought I'd share that little memory with you.
