Meet My Ties Volume 67

The Beatles
Rubber Soul

The last of my Beatles ties. I like it because it kinda looks like it's from an old black and white movie.
Plus, it's actually made of rubber.
Here are two blurry,closer looks.

Meet My Ties Volume 52

Volume 52...A year's worth of ties...Actually, I guess that doesn't quite sound right, does it ? A year's worth of ties sort of implies a different tie to wear for every day of the year, doesn't it ? And I do not have that. What I meant was that there are 52 weeks in a year, and this is the 52nd volume of Meet My Ties, hence, a year's worth.
I guess what I meant was a year's worth of Meet My Ties...That's what I meant. Phew! Glad that's settled. Let's meet our 52nd tie, shall we ?

The Beatles
Abbey Road
Made in Korea
Imported 100% Silk
Apple Corps LTD. A Beatles Product

This is actually one of my favorite ties. And I think when you take a closer look, you will understand why....

No ? Look closer still...

Do you see it ? The cover of "Abbey Road" is imprinted on the tie holographically!! is that holographic? I don't know the technical term ,but if you turn the tie the right way in the light, you can see the four Beatles crossing Abbey Road! Not the whole album cover, but the 4 figures and the crosswalk. Pretty friggin' cool, huh ?

Enjoy your Monday, Crimestoppers !!!

Meet My Ties Volume 42:

The Beatles:Paperback Writer
100% Silk
Handmade in China

From a(the?) Beatles tie collection, which I had never seen until I found a handful of them at Marshall's a few years ago while we were still living in Chicago, and by then they were each only 12 bucks a piece or so.

A closer, blurrier look.

Happy Monday, Crimestoppers.

Meet My Ties:Volume 8 !!!:While My Tie Gently Weeps.

Today's tie is from the Beatles Collection, it is called "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

It's 100 % silk, handmade in China. I got it a few years ago, when we lived in Chicago. I bought it at Marshall's for about 9 bucks,I think. I actually bought several Beatles' ties there...Fear not, you will meet them all.
I don't have a lot else to say about this tie, except that George was my favorite Beatle.

It Was 40 Years Ago Today...(okay, Technically Yesterday)

And keee-rist !! People have not shut up about it SINCE.

June 3rd, 1967- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band was released. And it has been overrated everyday since then. Sad, but true.

Now, I'm not saying it sucks. It certainly doesn't. But it is not the greatest album ever, either.
Shit, it's not even the Beatles best record(That would be Revolver, for those wondering. Followed by Rubber Soul and Abbey Road-THEN Sgt. Pepper's), and certainly not the greatest album ever.

Highway 61 Revisited is better.London Calling is better. American Beauty is better.Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed are Better. Exile On Main Street is, too. That could be my Stones/Beatles bias shining through tough.

I know, I know...But all the innovations...the album cover...Songs about Meter Maids !! They were bigger than Jesus( I still think Jesus' '60's recordings are waaay underrated. He was really pushing the envelope)!! It's the Beatles !! It's Sgt. Pepper's !!! BLAH BLAH BLAH. I just don't buy it all. It's a very good record. But not the all time BEST. And don't ask me why any of this matters. I don't fucking know. I was bored, and wanted to write about something. And, my opinion MATTERS!!! Because I say it does.
