Five...Count 'em...Five Questions....

Okay, so this an Interview Thing that is making the rounds. I read it at Avitable's.( I did one of these for Feral Mom as well, but without the participation rules attached) Then I asked him to interview me in his comments, then he sent me the following 5 questions which I will answer. If you want to particpate, the directions are at the bottom of the post.

Here are my answers to Avitable's questions:

1. What is your #1 favorite movie of all time ? Diner- written and directed by Barry Levinson. Brilliant dialogue, great acting. really delivers you to the time and place, and just about the funniest movie ever.

2. What is your #1 favorite song of all time ? Box Of Rain- Grateful Dead. I love it for so many reasons- it makes me dance(not an easy task)I remember once in college a couple of friends(Kim & Bob) and I came back from a bar, put "Box Of Rain" on repeat and danced for like a half an hour- it makes me smile, and it even makes me a little bit sad(it was written while Phil Lesh's Dad was dying in the hospital).

3. What do you do for a living ? I am an office manager in an academic department at Florida State University. Believe me, it is every bit as exciting as it sounds.

4. What is your biggest regret ? That I never took some time to tour with the Grateful Dead. That's an experience I am sad I missed.

5. Does that hairstyle come naturally, or do you have to get it permed ?
It is actually naturally curly. Though much less so now that it is almost
grey. It used to have a real "Weird Al" Yankovic quality to it. It also used to be very long- down the middle of my back.

Here are the rules if you want to keep it going:

Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
You will update your weblog with the answers to the questions.(And let me know that you answered) If you don't have a blog, but would still like to play, I can send you the questions, and you can answer 'em in the comments.
You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

You know, even though it says Tallahassee in the profile, it had escaped my mind. For some reason, I thought you were over on the West Coast.

So I guess this means you're close enough to come to my Halloween bash this year, eh?

Avitable said...

Oh, and you can interview me, and I'll answer them in your comments instead of a blog.

Avitable,
I did live in Los Angeles for 8 years, and I have written about it, so that's probably where you got that idea.
If invited to the halloween bash, i will do my best to be there!
i will get to work on 5 questions.

1.What is the perfect cheese for a cheeseburger?

I'm usually a fan of Swiss, but a sharp cheddar is good, too.

2. What is the best comic book movie adaptation, and what makes it so?

This is tough. I think I'd have to go with Ang Lee's Hulk. Other than the last ten minutes, which are horrible, it is probably the best example of the struggle between the two identities of Bruce Banner. I love the slower scenes that show his duality, and I think that most fans missed the point.

3. What is the worst comic book movie adaptation, and what makes it so?

Well, I'll be technical here. Sin City is the worst adaptation, because it was just the comic book on film. There was no filmmaker's interpretation or anything - just basically print to celluloid. It's still a great movie, though. When it comes to actual adaptations, I'll stick to recent movies and go with Catwoman. It should have just been named "Feline Girl" so it wasn't associated with DC or Warner at all. There was nothing of the comic in this movie other than the name.

4. What is your perfect automobile, and how specifically would you "pimp it out", if money was no object?

All I'd want is a Lincoln Navigator with all of the options. I like loud music, but nothing crazy. I have no interest in spinning wheels or lights or any of that shit. Just a comfortable car that goes very fast.

5. What is the best joke you have ever heard?

A guy walks into a bar. Ouch.

I'm ready for my interview, Mr. Paticus.

Avitable- have we ever discussed The Hulk before ? I thought I was the only person alive who liked that movie.
i'm with you on Catwoman too, though I was horribly upset by "Howard The Duck" as well. That could not have had less to do with the comic book.

Jeff K- I will work on some questions.

We have not discussed the Hulk, but I am glad to find someone who did enjoy it.

I never saw Howard the Duck. And I think some of the more reviled recent projects like Daredevil, Elektra, and the Punisher still did a decent job of getting to the heart of the character. Catwoman was just unwatchable.

Hey! Have I talked to you before?
My memory is shot. Too many Dead concerts, I guess. I LOVE "Box of Rain" that's one of my faves, along with "Crazy Fingers" which I see you have in "Lyric of the week".
In fact I was just listening to "Crazy Fingers" today and I haven't listend to it in, uh, forever.

Feral Mom & Jeff K- Check your e-mails !!

Avitable- yeah, Catwoman was pretty awful. the character was better developed in Batman Returns in much less time.

Annie- I do not believe we have ever really spoken before. I have commented on your blog a couple of times i think, and I think you said I looked familiar when I got reviewed at IT2M, but that's about it. Box Of Rain is just about a perfect song, and I have always felt that Crazy Fingers is waaay underrated.
