'Sup? And P.O.I.T., Everybody!!

  So, I actually DO gots some things to be wrtin' about, but I am busy and really tired and feel kinda nauseous(and okay, a little nervous that I might be pregnant- I know that sounds crazy, being that I'm a dude and all, but I don't know what other explanation there could be for the distended belly and nausea...But, I'm no Dr. Quinn, so I don't know for sure), so you will get some of that stuff later.

  This morning I was surfing the webs, on this brand new website called YouseTube or something, and I wanted to see if there was a video for as tune by The Feelies called "It's Only Life", and I stumbled a cross a cover of it by a guy named Mike Doughty. Actually, I guess it's actually a cover of a Mary J. Blige song called "Real Love" and he works a bit of "It's Only Life" into it. I really dig it. I guess he was in a band called Soul Coughing in the '90's. That name is vaguely familiar, but I don't know that I ever heard them. I also don't think I know this Mary J Blige song either(my personal Mary J jam is "Family Affair"-LOOOOVE that tune). I do believe I will have to look into this Mike Doughty  fellow, though... I really dig this tune...Check it out:

P.O.I.T. !!!!

Due to the troubles that I detailed yesterday, there has not been a lot of movement on the Praise Ogma, it's Thursday front. But fear not, the movement is still going forward.

I guess you folks must really be working on some intricate logo ideas, as we have ZERO submissions to the P.O.I.T. Logo contest so far. I am soooo excited for the entries !!

We are contacting celebrities regarding being the National Spokesperson for P.O.I.T.- we need to get a national(and eventually International) profile brewing. There is a gentleman calling himself Pastor Wright that keeps leaving me voicemails, I think I'll give him a call back.

I'm also working on a sponsorship deal with some of the major sports. I think I have just about secured the National Curling Association, and I am in talks with both the Idaho Billiards Coalition and the Lawn darts Collective of North Dakota, so keep those fingers crossed !!

Aaah, Rush. One of the two bands in my life that I have been told I am too musically ignorant to appreciate. Steely Dan was the other. Rush is a band that I actually like(Steely Dan I really don't). I don't adore them or anything, but I dig some of their tunes. But I remember when I was in high school, and they released "Big Money", which I thought was one of the stupidest songs I had ever heard. And a guy I was friends with told me that I just didn't "understand" them. I couldn't "get it". The guy was somewhat nice about it, I suppose, I think he kind of pitied me.

Now, the due who told me I was "too musically ignorant" to appreciate Steely Dan actually used those words. I was a bit more offended by him. But, he was also the guy who asked me once, when I was 19(not maliciously, just stupidly) while we were in a BAR sitting in a booth across from the BARTENDER, drinking BEER:"So, Paticus, when do you turn 21 ?". I smiled, and answered through gritted teeth,"Why, 2 YEARS ago, as my completely valid driver's license states." Genius.

But I digress...On with this week's clue !!

Praise Ogma, It's Thursday !!!! -Big Announcement !!!!!

That's right, Crimestoppers...It's THURSDAY, time to once again, Praise Ogma !!

I have not received any cease and desist paperwork from Ogma or his team of lawyers, so it seems that Praise Ogma, It's Thursday is a go !! And I must tell you, I feel the magic already, don't you ?

I woke up this morning, and I was so excited that it was Thursday. I was fully ready to Praise Ogma !! It's kickass, man, I'm telling you.

I am still reworking the screenplay for the P.O.I.T. movie..I don't want to tell you folks about it just yet. In due time, I promise.

The business plan for P.O.I. Thursday's is coming together...If you're interested in maybe obtaining a franchise in your neck of the woods, just let me know.

I have also started talking to some folks about merchandising, and here's the big announcement-

We are going to have a contest for the Praise Ogma It's Thursday logo !! Prizes to be determined, so get designing, Crimestoppers !!!!!

P.O.I.T !!!!!

What ? That is a kick-ass acronym, and you know it !! Did you really think that I was going to give up after one week ? You obviously don't know me as well as you think.

I really thought that we, as a society, are ripe for a fresh, hip, new T.G.I.F., and I think Praise Oprah, It's Thursday is stellar. P.O.I.T. !!!

I am already working on the script for the movie, and I am speaking to investors about a chain of P.O.I. Thursday's restaurants....

What's that ?

Oh.

My lawyers inform me that we have received a "cease and desist" letter from Oprah Winfrey, stating that if I utter the phrase Praise Oprah it's Thursday again, I will be in some major trouble...And I do not want to fuck with the big "O". For all I know, she'll come to my house and eat my children.

Hmm.. so what do we do now ?


My crack research staff hopped on the old internets, and they have come up with a replacement phrase....The new, improved, Hot catchphrase is....Praise Ogma, It's Thursday !! Ogma, I'm told, is the Celtic God of Eloquence and Runes.

Praise Ogma, It's Thursday...I like that. I like that a lot. fuckin' A. Good job, crack research staff! And thank you Oprah, for forcing us to improve the new catchphrase.

Alright, now where was I ? Oh yes, I am working on the script, though I will have to rework the story a little bit, and certainly remove the Oprah cameo, but this is good. the wheels are turning.
And I am now simply ABUZZ about the possibilities for P.O.I. Thursday's !! Irish cuisine at it's finest !! Guinness on tap. Harp on tap. Boiled meats !!! More news to come !!
